Yes i do!! If you dare to look at my blog archive, you will see with HORROR that I have not made a post here since January!!!! OMG and today is October 31st YIKES!!!! Today in preparation for Digital Scrapbook Day, I have attempted to fix ?....make amends? .....let's just say update. I only have one excuse...I started a supposed part-time job on January 7th, 2008 and it has been FULL TIME until today...I now get Fridays off for the time being...I am really hoping that it is forever as my designing and blogging time has been severely curtailed. I have added the latest of my kits for the year...sadly not many, some news about Club Nut, a bit about our holiday (made trying to update a photo album to share) all in preparation for NOVEMBER 1ST - DIGITAL SCRAPBOOK DAY...... enjoy

Yes that's right.....we actually had a fantastic holiday (way back in August) to Borneo. We visited Sabah & Brunei. What a fascinating and amazing place...I am still thinking about our adventure two and a half months later. I even got to become a published author...well not as good as it sounds...but I wrote 2 little articles over 2 issues of Inside Social Golf (the golf paper that DH edits. What fun for me..... I have started a little photo album/slideshow ...lots more to add, just click on the pic of the orchid...in the mean time...here's a little sample...2 layouts with photos I took at the Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctury. Yes that's right.....we actually had a fantastic holiday (way back in August) to Borneo. We visited Sabah & Brunei. What a fascinating and amazing place...I am still thinking about our adventure two and a half months later.

This kit came about because of a collaboration with the gorgeous and crazy Caroline from France (a fellow NUTS designer). We all submitted a colour swatch and then we were paired up through a secret ballot with another designer. It was great fun, a great boost for the "post silly season" lost mojo and a challenge to work with someone elses colour scheme.

Making the most of your Magic Wand Tool

Making the most of your Magic Wand Tool In Photoshop Elements & Photoshop The Magic Wand tool selects pixels within a similar color range with one click. By experimenting with the tool options before making your final selection you will end up with a clear and crisp extraction, thus removing the need for fiddly and time consuming removal of stray pixels and jagged edges. Options functions: •Tolerance Entering a low value will select colors very similar to the pixel you click, or enter a higher value to select a broader range of colors. (values can be set from 0 to 255). Between 30 to 100 is a good place to start •Anti-aliased Check/Select Anti-alias. Anti-aliasing smoothes the jagged edges of a selection by softening the color transition between edge pixels and background pixels. Because only the edge pixels change, no detail is lost. •(Contiguous selects adjacent areas using the same colours – do not select •Sample All Layers selects colours using data from all visible layers – do not select) Photo 1. Your photograph or image must have clear and defined edges. (In this instance I chose to delete the background, again you can experiment at this stage) •Start with a transparent layer •Duplicate your original image Ctrl J and hide the original by clicking on the eye next to it in the layers palette (it is always handy to have a spare original) TIP work on a full screen Ctrl+ to enlarge image to fit screen. It also helps to delete as much of the back ground. DO NOT USE THE ERASER. Use lasso tool or marquee tools (select the area to delete press delete) •In the Editor, select the Magic Wand tool •Set Magic Wand tool options in the options bar •You MUST select Anti-alias before making your selection •Now experiment with the tolerance value (I started with 30 and ended with 50, notice how almost the entire flower is “outlined” by marching ants the some of the green, the flower centre and a couple of stray pixels top left have not been selected) •Now click on the “add to selection” icon (see photo 1) and continue to click on each stray area with the magic wand tool. (in this instance the flower centre was too dark so I decided to delete it also and use the centre from my original image) TIP Before deleting I like to tweak the selection a little more. Again it is worth experimenting here. Keep in mind you can go to Undo History (in layers palette) to get back to your original selection before selecting feather & expand. •Go to Select – Feather (for this image I set the pixel value to 2 pixels only) then •Select – Expand (I set 2 pixels – this makes the selection of the background pixels a fraction bigger/closer to the petals) •Then press delete or back space to remove/delete the background pixels. NOTE: Anti-aliasing can also be used with the Lasso, Polygonal Lasso, Magnetic Lasso, and Elliptical Marquee tools, just remember to select Anti-alias before making your selection. Enjoy experimenting and please feel free to post any questions you may have in the forum. cheers, Marguerite

After what seems an eternity, I finally got around to doing some layouts. Loosing all my photos on my old hard drive didn't exactly help (and yes, I know, I didn't have them saved on disk) I had so much fun...see layouts below....I decided to make them into 12"x12" quick pages and I did a couple more while I was at. Of course I had to use BWG plus RED again as well as elements & papers from BWG Kit. and....finally it occured to me that my Waremelon kit would also work perfectly with BWG....gooodie now I can do an add-onto Watermelon for more options with BWG.

Yet again I have neglected my poor blog, I don't know what happened to a post every two days or so???? I have been designing like crazy...so many ideas swirling around in my head...I just can't get them executed as fast as I think of them. Below is my Pretty in Pink Kit & some close-up samples....(can't get that movie title out of my head) and pink IS so pretty. Used some of this kit in my earlier post of DD when she was a little munchkin. Today I have made some absolutely gorgeous Spring papers...it is spring in the Northern Hemisphere you know...DD had a picnic in Hyde Park (London) over the Easter break and said it was 26 degrees this past Sunday....looks like global warming is affecting old London town as well. Must away, enjoy and I'll post my Spring Kits soon and definately do some layouts or the way I'm going it will also be Spring here before I know it!!

It's been well over 2 weeks since my last post. I have had my other hat on (been very busy paper scrapping...just can't give that up). I have decided to concentrate on girly girl papers, all things pink and all the wonderful array of colours that look so good with pink. Unfortunately I have been reduced to dragging out my daughters baby albums and scanning old photos so I can scrap baby pics...sorry Carly! and sorry viewers the quality of the scans aren't that good (decent scanner on wish list) The good news is that today we bought a new digital camera so no more excuses for bad photographs hey? More "in the pink" to come soon.

Sharon has graciously let me use some of her photographs to use for my Seaside Kit. In appreciation I have decided to call this kit "Etana's beach Holiday".

The photograph in this layout is so happy and cheery, I designed the tropical paper to reflect the joys of fun in the sun.

I would just love to know what is going through her little head when this shot was captured, she looks so grown up ...the seasoned swimmer.

Again because the colours in the foreground are so vibrant, I designed textured background colours to enhance the soft colours of the water.
